MAC Semi Precious

MAC's New "Semi Precious" Collection was released on July 7, and a week earlier in Pro Stores. Since I have been super busy for the past week, I decided to wait and visit my local Dillard's MAC store to check this collection out. There has been tons of "Hype" on this new collection, on YouTube and Twitter, and I can see why. All of the mineralize products in this collection include matte and shimmer finishes, and silky-smooth textures. From this entire collection, I picked up two of the Mineralize Skinfinishes.
Since I watched so many videos already on this collection, I knew going into MAC, I only wanted the Mineralize Skinfinishes and the Mineralize Blushes. I swatched all three of the mineralize blushes and decided to pass on them, because of how they looked with my skintone. I swatched all four of the Mineralize Skinfinishes and decided to pass on two of them (Pearl) and (Goldstone). I purchased two MSF's in the colors, "Crystal Pink" and "Rose Quartz".
Crystal Pink's outer color is a pink champagne shade and the inner color includes pink, dirty green, and coppery-bronze shades.
Rose Quartz's outer color is a deep rosy pink shade and the inner color includes silver, bronze, light pink, and lime shades.
Shown above: Crystal Pink's outer color appears, as said before, as a pink champagne color. However, the inner color appears as a peachy pink and all of the colors swirled together show as a peachy-gold color.

Shown above: Rose Quartz's outer color appears, as said before, as a deep rosy-pink color. However, the inner color appears as a light shimmery-champagne color, and all of the colors swirled together, show as a rosy-pink, peach color.

Shown above: On my cheeks, "Crystal Pink" appears as a light, shimmery bronze color with a hint of pink. I love how this MSF looks, with all of the colors swirled together on my cheeks. In the pan, Crystal Pink has a high-frost metallic finish, but on my cheeks it has a slight shimmery sheen.

Shown above: On my cheeks, "Rose Quartz" appears as a Rosy pink color. Even with all of the colors swirled together, this MSF looks almost identical to the outer base color. In the pan, Rose Quartz has a high-frost finish, but on my cheeks it appears as a very light shimmer.

Both of the Mineralize Skinfinishes are velvety-soft and apply smooth to the cheeks and face. They both retail at $28/each and can be purchased at any MAC counter.

  1. I like crystal pink on you better, maybe it's just the lighting but the other one makes you look like you're blushing from embarassment, though, I guess it is called blush for a reason ... hmmm.

  2. Meredith Jessica, Thanks, the Rose Quartz is a deep rosy pink color, which on my cheeks shows true to it's color in the pan. However, the lighting made it appear a teen bit red on my cheeks:)
